COVID-19 Testing

At Queen City Ear Nose and Throat we offer three different types of curbside COVID testing.
All tests are performed with a nasal swab.

  • Standard COVID PCR Test: A curbside nasal swab is performed and the patient will be contacted with the results which are typically available within 2-3 days. This evaluation and test can be billed through insurance for patients who are symptomatic and/or have known exposure to COVID.

  • Rapid PCR COVID/Flu A and B/RSV Test: A curbside nasal swab is performed and the patient’s results are available within approximately 1 hour. For patients with symptoms this evaluation and test can be billed through the patient's insurance. If this test is being performed for exposure, travel, work requirement, or other reasons that do not include symptoms, or at the patient’s request, this test will not be billed through insurance and will cost $150 per patient. (Blakeney Location Only)

  • Rapid COVID Antigen Test: A curbside nasal swab is performed and the patient’s results are available within approximately 30 minutes. This test is not billed through insurance. The cost of the test is $100 per patient. This test can have false negative results at a higher rate than PCR testing

PCR testing: PCR testing is a molecular test and is considered the “gold standard” in SARS-CoV-2 detection. This test actually detects RNA (or genetic material) that is specific to the virus and can detect the virus within days of infection, even those who have no symptoms.

Antigen test: Antigen testing detects protein fragments specific to the Coronavirus.

If you or a family member are experiencing symptoms and/or have potentially been exposed to COVID or need testing for travel, work or other reasons please call
